Wonderful Effort From Hull Wyke Under 11s At Yorkshire Festivals.

Hull Wyke Under 11s completed in two Rugby League Festivals in Dewsbury Yorkshire over the Weekend.
The first was at Shaw Cross on Saturday where they played four games winning three and losing one.
Game One was against the Hosts Shaw Cross Sharks winning a close game 7-5 the Wyke scorers being Gibson, Cheeseman, Stone, Collins, Sugden and Hassard 2.
Game Two was local rivals Skirlaugh Bulls and although leading at one stage 2-0 they finally lost the game 3-6 try scorers Stone 2 and Cooper.
Game Three was a repeat of the first game versus Shaw Cross Sharks and again a narrow victory by 6-5 scorers Sugden, Opie, Stone, Collins, Hassard and Cooper.
The final Game Four was Skirlaugh Bulls again and in a ding dong battle Wyke narrowly edged it 5-4 with tries from Gibson and Hassard 4.
There was no outright winner with medals given to all three teams.

The second festival was at Dewsbury Moor and this time it was on a league basis with six teams entered playing each other once.
Game One was against Hunslet Parkside with Wyke winning 2-1 scorer Armstrong 2. Game Two was a tense affair with Featherstone Lions the game ended 0-0.
Game Three was the Hosts Dewsbury Moor and Wyke won 4-0 with tries from Opie, Armstrong, Collins and Gibson.
Game Four was Emley Moor and a comfortable win 3-0 scorers Hassard, Gibson and Hope.
The final Game Five against Local Rivals West Hull saw wye remain unbeaten winning 3-0 with tries from Gibson, Armstrong and Epson.
With Hull Wyke unbeaten and on nine points the very last game of the Tournament meant that Featherstone Lions had to beat Hunslet Parkside by five tries to overtake Wyke and they did manage to win 5-0.
Hull Wyke can hold their heads up high as playing two Tournaments in two days was a big ask with a small squad but what an effort from them and again flew the flag for Hull and District well solid performance lads and very well done.
